    Greetings.

I am updating a site from Salient to X. I have already installed X and child, however when activating, the Visual Composer elements are screwy. I have tried disabling the VC X Integration, but that doesn’t really help. Is there a way to do this without going through 300 pages looking for Visual Composer elements that aren’t working right.

I’m attaching a screenshot that shows what happens on one of the pages when X is activated.

    Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Can you confirm VC is active on your site? Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Cheers!

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing back. Currently X is not active. Do you permit us to switch the theme to check? Meantime make sure to update Cornerstone to latest version and install the bundled version of Visual Composer from X Addons menu.

    Cheers!

You have permission to activate X. After inspection, please switch back to Salient child. I have updated X theme and Cornerstone. Also have verified that the X bundled Visual Composer is installed. The Visual Composer elements are still showing code on the pages while X is active.

Thanks so much for your help with this!

    Hello There,

When activating X or X child theme, you must make sure that X integration in Visual Composer is enabled.

This is what happened in your site. If there’s anything else, we can help you with, please let us know.

    Best Regards.

This is what it looks like with X active and Visual Composer X Integration enabled…

    Hi there,

The integration removes VC’s native elements. But it has an option to disable it, I went ahead and toggled off the Remove Native Elements.

And you should be doing your update and changes on a dev site. It may break your live one. I switched it back to Salient theme.

    Thanks!

Perfect, thanks so much for the help, that is exactly what I need!

Yes, I probably should be using a dev site, just figured that going from one HTML5 theme to another couldn’t be too dangerous. Maybe I shouldn’t be that cavalier. At least I did full backups 😉

Not sure if this thread is closed, but I have found some additional issues. I have attempted to center text and headings but cannot. Have tried the settings within the element, and also using CSS. Here is an example: http://www.48days.com/liveevents/coaching-with-excellence-live/ a little less than 1/3 way down the page is the text: “Includes more than $450 in physical product alone!” then each heading below that down the rest of the page is also not centering.

This page: http://www.48days.com/about-us/ has several elements (video embed, separator lines, extra space, etc.) which are not showing up at all. There is literally white space where these elements should be.

    Any help?

    Hi there,

#1 Please set width to columns, see the attachment.
#2 You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Hope it helps.
