    Hi!

    I’m trying to change the size & position of the featured image on blog posts (www.womenslunchplace.org) but the custom css fix that I’ve seen others use to do this isn’t working. I’ve set the featured image on the post and inserted the following code into the customizer:

    .entry-featured {
    position: static;
    padding: 0;
    width: 200px;
    float: left;
    margin: 20px 20px 20px 0;
    }

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for posting in.

    Would you mind directing to the post with featured image?

    I can’t find any post, all you have are pages with images. And pages does not have featured images and, thus, your css will not work.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    The post with the featured image is at: http://wlp.np3consulting.com/tech-goes-home/

    The featured image on the post is okay (it’s aligned left & smaller)…but it’s still displaying gigantically on the homepage (http://wlp.np3consulting.com….scroll down the page for the blog feed w/ tech goes home)

    Thank you so much for your help!! Support is amazing 🙂

    pam

    p.s. btw, it would be ideal if the featured image was aligned left & small on the homepage but larger on the actual post

    Hi there,

    Please add this code:

    .home ul.slides {
    width: 52%;
    }
    .entry-featured {
    padding: 0;
    width: 80%;
    margin: 0 auto;
    float: none;
    display: block;
    }

    And delete this:

    .entry-featured {
    position: static;
    padding: 0;
    width: 200px;
    float: left;
    margin: 20px 20px 20px 0;
    }

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Thank you so much for the fix 🙂 It’s looking better!

    But how do I get rid of the bullet that’s appearing to the left of the image (homepage only)? And is there some way to have the image float to the left of the text. Ex: http://www.rosiesplace.org

    Also, is there some css to adjust the title size of the blog post?

    I’m sorry for all the questions – I’m still at bottom of learning curve!

    Thanks again,
    pam

    Hi there,

    #1. Place the following CSS code into your Customizer, Custom > CSS section using the menu Appearance -> Customize.

    .article_list.article_list_images > li {
        background-image: none !important;
    }

    #2. I see that your images already aligned to left.

    #3. You can use the following CSS place it into your Customizer, Custom > CSS section.

    .article_list > li > h5 > a {
        font-size: 1.2em;
    }

    Hope that helps.

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately, that css code doesn’t change anything 🙁

    Also, while the featured image does align left on the actual post ..it’s still above the text on homepage (i.e., where i add [recent_posts] shortcode) – i want it to float:left everywhere…that’s probably the easiest fix.

    And, while I was able to get the post text on the actual post to resize using this bit of code:

    h1.entry-title {
    font-size: 24px;
    }

    it’s not changing the size on the homepage.

    Thanks for your patience and help!

    Hi Pam,

    Thanks for writing in! It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin(theme fusion builder) or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi,

    I’ve disabled all third party plugins but it’s still not working. I’m going crazy trying to get [recent_posts] to format correctly on the homepage. 🙁

    Is there anything else I can try?

    Please help!!

    Hi Pam,

    please try this and add it under Custom > CSS in the Customizer.

    .x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-img {
    height: 130px;
    width: 195px;
    float: left;
    }

    .x-recent-posts-img {
    margin: 0 5px 5px 0;
    }

    .x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-content {
    padding: 15px 10px 0 210px;
    }

    .x-recent-posts .h-recent-posts {
    font-size: 24px;
    }

    Also if that still doesn’t work would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

    Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Hope this helps!

    That is just about perfect!!!

      THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. 🙂

    One last remaining issue…is there some way to make the background & border transparent? I’m not a big fan of the white container.

    And again, thank you so much!!

    You’re welcome Pam.

    Regarding background and border.

    You can add this under Custom > CSS in the Customizer.

    body .x-recent-posts a {
        background-color:transparent;
        border:0;
    }

    Thanks

    Worked like a charm! Thank you 🙂

    And just in case anyone else is having the same issue…fyi, I added a tiny bit more code to remove residual box-shadow styling:

    box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px;
    }

    So for totally transparent post container the code that worked for me is:

    body .x-recent-posts a {
    background-color:transparent;
    border:0;box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px;
    }

    X support is the best 🙂 xoxo
