    Hi there

I need to change my permalink structure from postname/ to postname.html because this was the link structure from my previous website and I do not want to change URLs. I have found a way to do this with the help of a plugin.

The problem is that I need to change all the links within the page like buttons etc which is a lot of work. I saw a plugin which does search and replace but I ran a test run and I don’t trust the plugin as it will make direct changes in the database and it gave me something like 800 incidents for one link I entered which is certainly not correct.

Is there a way to change the links according to the new permalink structure?

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in.

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thanks.

    Hello There,

Thank you for the clarifications. You should have set the permalinks first before adding those links in each of your posts and pages. It would not be difficult to change all of those links. One option is that you have to edit each of your posts and pages containing those links and replace it manually. Another options is to install a 3rd party plugin, Search Regex. After installing, you can do a search and replace for each of your links.

    Hope this helps.
