Installed the theme by FTP but got an error message saying failed due to missing style sheet. Then uploaded the zip file via the WordPress installer. That worked except for the slider revolution, visual composer and x shortcode plug ins, for which I got the no valid header message. I then found the x shortcodes plug in on this site and downloaded it and then uploaded it to wordpress, which worked. I’m still stuck for the other two. I don’t understand what you mean when you say in your advice elsewhere to go to framework/plug in.
Then I tried to install the child themes after downloading them from here. Failed – ‘missing the style.css/stylesheet.'

    Hey there!

Thanks for writing in! If you haven’t done so yet, definitely take some time to review all of our resources in the Knowledge Base as a lot of setup questions like this are already covered in there and in much more detail than we can provide here. We include documentation, numerous helpful articles, and dozens of videos, which go over many aspects of the theme.

Look for the Theme Installation topic which will surely help you with the issue you’re having. If some things are still not clear, please don’t hesitate to ask us. We’ll be happy to help you.

    Cheers!

I’ve looked in the knowledge base and searched the forum. Not found anything that helps with my particular problem. I know how to install themes – you can see the site is up and running – it’s just that neither these particular plug ins nor the child themes will install successfully. I did see in the forum a few other people having the same issues with these plug ins but not solutions there to help me – you did ask people for their WordPress log in details so you could take a look. Thank you!

    Hi Beverley,

We would suggest you to install child theme and plugins manually below are the steps

Login to FTP using FTP Client like FileZilla

Upload child theme in wp-content/themes/ folder

Go to WP-AdminAppearanceThemes and activate the child theme.

To install required plugins you can do that manually too you will find plugins in x/framework/plugins

    Upload plugins in wp-content/plugins/ folder

Go to WP-AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and activate plugins there.

If you still face any issue related to X don’t hesitate to reach us again.

    Thanks

For the child themes, I’m pretty sure that’s what I did. I will try again. This might be a silly question, but Where is x/framework/plugins? i saw a reference to it before but don’t know where it is. Can’t see it on the X site or within WordPress.

    Thank you

This could be referring to the folder structure on your server:
    /wp-content/themes/x/framework/plugins

Or if you just unzip X theme, you’ll see the x folder which you can follow to the plugins 🙂

Hello, I am having the same issue. I have uninstalled and re-installed X and the child themes through the FTP and directly from my server. The main X theme works for me but I cannot use the child themes. WordPress gives an error message saying the following:

    Broken Themes
The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description
    __MACOSX Stylesheet is missing.
X – Child Theme: Integrity Light The parent theme is missing. Please install the “x” parent

    Can you please help?

Also, it’s probably important to note that I am using a PC… not a Mac.

    Hi Michael,

did you make sure that your parent theme does not get deleted and stays inside the theme folder? Also can you open up the style.css file in the child theme folder and copy paste me the content inside. There is a line @import can you show me that one? Thanks! Also make sure that your parent theme is called /x/ (the folder is actually named like that).
