Debora GParticipantHi there,
In a plugin updating session I got this message.
Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.
And now the site is totally unavailable.
I’ve been looking for the .maintenance file, using FTP, but it isn’t in the root. I hope you can help me with the problem.
Thanks,
Debora

Debora GParticipantHi there,
Thanks, I already found these fixes but, like I stated, I can not find such a file: .maintenance. 🙁
Could you please look into this? Maybe you are better in locating it or maybe there is another issue.
Thanks,
Debora

Debora GParticipantHi there,
Tried that one too. No results. This file .maintenance does not seem to be there.
The message: Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute. is not showing anymore. It only was for the first half hour After that: Nothing is showing, just a blank screen! Don’t know if this information gives you a better clue.
Please help!
Thanks,
Debora

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for the credentials but I can’t understand the language there and there is no option to select English. Kindly go to your file manager and remove
.maintenancefile. You need to enable the option to show hidden files.
You can ask your hosting provider for help.Cheers!

Debora GParticipantHi there,
I’ve already addressed the site through FTP, using the option to show hidden files. But there was no .maintenance-file!
But, I’ll contact the helpdesk of the host first thing monday-morning.
Thanks so far.
Hope they can help, if not, I’ll be back.
Thanks so far.

Debora GParticipantHi there,
It turned out to be the Yoast Seo Plugin that caused all the trouble after the update.
They made the site available/visible. Then I had to throw away the plugin and reinstall it.Glad it’s solved!
Maybe the lesson in this is: finish my working week one hour prior to the support team of the host 4 p.m. on fridays 😉
Thanks,
Debora
