    My URL is evahoerth.com. WP version = 4.5.3

    My visual composer plugin isn’t letting me use the Backend Editor. I have access to the text editor, though.

    Hello There,

    Thanks for providing the information. It turns out that you currently have an older version of the VC and X. Please make sure that you are fully updated (Theme and Plugins). Most of the time outdated theme and plugins will create issues in your site.

    Our latest versions are:
    X Theme: 4.6
    Cornerstone: 1.3

    And please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes 3.0.5 plugin.. Please take note that X shortcodes has been deprecated and replaced. All its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which you can install by going to X Addons > Extensions.

    You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site. If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

    Please let us know how it goes.
