fashionfoxParticipantHi,
My site is http://www.saintbarth.com/.
The problematic post is here: http://www.saintbarth.com/st-barts-landing-photos-7062/
Wordpress version: 4.4.2
X version: 4.3.3
Cornerstone version: 1.1.1It used to work, but not anymore: For the last few days, I’ve been unable to embed Instagram photos in my posts.
What used to work: Add a Text element, past the embed code, save.
Now: I do the same, but saving does not work. The new element does not show up on the published page. And it disappears from the admin too. What I have tried:
– deactivate / reactivate all plugins (Problem is the same with no other plugin on)
– erase Cornestone folder via FTP and reinstall the plugin. No result.Thank you for your help,
Thibault

Paul RModeratorHi,
Please use raw content element instead of text element for your embed code.
Thanks

fashionfoxParticipantHi,
Sadly, it is still not working.
It works in the admin, but not on the published article.
If save and publish, nothing shows up.
Then, if you close the admin and try to edit the changes again, the raw element has disappeared. Just like what the text element used to.
What else can we try?
Thanks,

JadeModeratorHi Thibault,
I have tried to check the code in the page you have indicated on your first post but I can’t seem to see it anymore.
Would you mind putting it back to how it used to be so that we could do some further check and testing?
Thank you.
February 9, 2016 at 12:23 pm #787630
fashionfoxParticipantWell this is the problem: THE CODE KEEPS ON DISAPPEARING! This is precisely why you cannot see.
– As you can see attached: I embed the photo in the admin and it looks good in the admin. BUT after saving the post, nothing shows up on the post. And the code is also gone from the admin.$`
– Could you please try to edit http://www.saintbarth.com/st-barts-landing-photos-7062/, embed the Instagram code I gave you, save the post and check whether you can see the embedded Instagram photo? Thanks,
Thibault

ZeshanMemberHi Thibault,
I’ve added the code you gave and it’s working fine in the front-end of the site (see: http://prntscr.com/a1b16w). Would you mind confirming the issue again?
Thank you!

fashionfoxParticipantHi,
Thank you for your patient help, but I think that it is still not working. Sorry that it’s taking so much time on both sides! The issue is still here:
– 1. In your screenshot, you can see that the photo is not being pulled from the Instagram feed
– 2. If you try to add and save a second photo to the page, it will not work.Try creating a second RAW element and inserting this code:
<div style="padding:8px;"> <div style=" background:#F8F8F8; line-height:0; margin-top:40px; padding:30.8796296296% 0; text-align:center; width:100%;"> <div style=" background:url(data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAACwAAAAsCAMAAAApWqozAAAAGFBMVEUiIiI9PT0eHh4gIB4hIBkcHBwcHBwcHBydr+JQAAAACHRSTlMABA4YHyQsM5jtaMwAAADfSURBVDjL7ZVBEgMhCAQBAf//42xcNbpAqakcM0ftUmFAAIBE81IqBJdS3lS6zs3bIpB9WED3YYXFPmHRfT8sgyrCP1x8uEUxLMzNWElFOYCV6mHWWwMzdPEKHlhLw7NWJqkHc4uIZphavDzA2JPzUDsBZziNae2S6owH8xPmX8G7zzgKEOPUoYHvGz1TBCxMkd3kwNVbU0gKHkx+iZILf77IofhrY1nYFnB/lQPb79drWOyJVa/DAvg9B/rLB4cC+Nqgdz/TvBbBnr6GBReqn/nRmDgaQEej7WhonozjF+Y2I/fZou/qAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC); display:block; height:44px; margin:0 auto -44px; position:relative; top:-22px; width:44px;"></div></div> <p style=" margin:8px 0 0 0; padding:0 4px;"> <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/BBXQqYWhs1X/" target="_blank">✈ @flytradewind 's Pilatus PC-12 Short Final on St.Barth✈ #stbarthstribe ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ 📷 Pic via @thunder_maxwell77 👤 Follow and Tag @saintbarthcom to Get Featured 📡 Use Hashtag #stbarthstribe to Get Featured ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️ ▪️▪️▪️▪️▪️</a></p> <p style=" color:#c9c8cd; font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:17px; margin-bottom:0; margin-top:8px; overflow:hidden; padding:8px 0 7px; text-align:center; text-overflow:ellipsis; white-space:nowrap;">Une photo publiée par St Barts Insider's Travel Tips (@saintbarthcom) le <time style=" font-family:Arial,sans-serif; font-size:14px; line-height:17px;" datetime="2016-02-04T11:55:46+00:00">4 Févr. 2016 à 3h55 PST</time></p></div> <script async defer src="//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js"></script>After you save it, I am not sure that you will be able to see it.

fashionfoxParticipantI am still trying to make it work again.
– When I add the embedded code directly in the Text mode (no using Cornerstone), it’s working fine
– I use in the Visual mode the X Theme shortcurs, for instance to embed a video, but with my Instagram code, it’s working (The formatting / size is just wrong)
– Still, when I use Cornerstone directly, it’s not working.Thank you for your help,
Thibault

RadModeratorHi,
The lead popup also causes script issue. Please disable it while we’re testing.
The problem is probably the embed code. Even without cornerstone (just plain editor’s text content), it’s not really working, not even pulling photo from Instagram.
I created a sample here in cornerstone http://www.saintbarth.com/instagram-embed-test/ one is with your embed, and my own added embed. My added embed works. Please check the difference, specially around blockquote.
Thanks.

fashionfoxParticipantThanks for looking.
Now, this is driving me crazy!
– I looked at your embed code: Yes, it’s different from what I had. Not sure.
– I then erased my Raw element, with the faulty embed code
– When I save it, your photo was not showing anymore on the test page http://www.saintbarth.com/instagram-embed-test/Arg … This used to work well. See in the older post, it’s fine: http://www.saintbarth.com/instagram-le-ti-st-barth-6730/
What’s wrong with saving / editing thing?
Thanks.

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s probably corrupted by embed you added. I re-added my embed and it works, added another one and remove it, and it still works.
Please check again. The best workaround is to copy embed code directly from Instagram. That’s to ensure you’re copy and pasting the original code, and not the corrupted one.
Thanks.

fashionfoxParticipantHi again,
– The problem is still there. If you had one Instagram pic, it’s OK. If you add 2, the additional photo does not get pulled up from the feed. If you save the post, bot RAW elements disappear.
– I do not change the embedded code. Just like you, I copy and paste it. Something is changing the code after it”s been saved.
Thanks,

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
In our latest release, we have increase the restrictions in inserting characters that might corrupt Cornerstone Data. In your code you have included the caption and in the captions, there are so many invalid characters like for example the emojis and other not so web safe characters. When Cornerstone detects any invalid characters it will try not to save it to avoid any issues that might even corrupt or mess the whole page. Please try to exclude the captions and embed it in your raw content.
We have aleady tested this is our local test server. We were able to display 3 the same photos but the we did not include the caption (http://prntscr.com/a2lmp9).
These were our test results:
No caption : http://prntscr.com/a2lnrl
With caption : http://prntscr.com/a2loedAdding the embed code with caption, we were not able to save the page. The invalid characters created issues in Cornerstone which have not been able to save the changes.
Hope this explains it.
