wayneswaxParticipantHi,
I’m using X Theme with Ethos child theme. I want to move a Masonry Media Grid gallery out of a page content area, and put it in the footer. Is this possible, and if yes, how? Thank you.

wayneswaxParticipantThanks for responding. Sure, this is the url:
http://wayneswax.com/new/mega-yacht-waxing-low-cost-high-gloss/Beneath the video at the top is two rows of pictures (two masonite media grid rows). What I want to try is to move them, or something like it, into the left side of the black footer. Of course I will push the circle logo to the right side of the footer.
Is it possible to either:
a) put masonite media grid shortcode into a footer widget, or
b) hardcode the masonite media shortcode into the php section of a footer template?Or is there some other recommended way of putting a gallery into the footer section?
I am aiming for the footer because it’s universal to all the industries we’re targeting, whereas individual page content areas are specific to some industry, either marine, air, auto, etc.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thank you for the clarifications.
a) It could be possible if you have the shortcode of the media grid.
b) The same thing here, you can hard code the media grid as long as you have the shortcode because this is the only way that you can display the grid anywhere else you want on the page.
If there isn’t any shortcode, you can install Essential Grid or The Grid plugin by going to X Addons > Extensions. Please make sure that you have validated X so that you can see the complete list of bundled plugins. To know more about this plugins, please check out our knowledge base here: https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-essential-grid/, https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-the-grid/
Hope this helps.

wayneswaxParticipantThank you for your reply. I think I’m getting there, but just one more problem.
I researched how to wrap shortcode in PHP
echo, which I was able to implement in the footer.php file, and then I learned how to add a function to the functions.php file so I can put shortcodes in a text widget. So now I know two ways to put shortcodes in the footer: 1) Either wrap a shortcode in an echo directly within the footer.php, or 2) thanks to an additional accessory function in functions.php, simply put shortcodes within a text-type widget.I can see that the shortcode is working in the footer, because the Masonite Media Grid loader GIF is showing. However, the gallery pictures never actually load.
Here is the shortcode I put in the footer text widget. These work in the content section of the page, but for some reason aren’t producing images in the footer:
[vc_masonry_media_grid element_width="3" grid_id="vc_gid:1473188631512-5602383374323da682106621ce8af3d0-10" include="476,475,474,473"] [vc_masonry_media_grid element_width="3" grid_id="vc_gid:1473188631610-e78bdfebd3925a0082a4791d98e5fc58-6" include="469,451,449,448"]Any ideas?

RadModeratorHi there,
Looks like cache, I added one and it won’t work but after waiting, it then works http://wayneswax.com/new/?page_id=569&preview=true
Or perhaps, it loads because the Media grid library is already loaded with the content. Hence, it should be added only within the content area.
Thanks!

wayneswaxParticipantThank you for your time and effort with this! I think my conclusion, based on two pages, one with a grid in the content area, and one without a grid in the content area, but both with the grid in the footer, is that it really doesn’t work to have a Masonry Media Grid gallery in the footer. Will have to find an alternative technique. Thanks for looking into this.

wayneswaxParticipantFollowup: The Masonite Media Grid gallery may not work in the footer, but the Envira Gallery works perfectly.
