    Possibly a silly question, but I want to create a page named, “portfolio”, but it seems that the permalink keeps changing to portfolio-2. Is there a way I can create one that has the proper permalink? I suspect I am missing something obvious…

    Hi there,

    Please check all published, trashed and drafted pages, there must be a page with “portfolio” slug. Remove that page permanently or change its slug.

    No, that’s not the issue. I believe it’s because Portfolio is a custom post type in the theme. If that’s the case, I can’t use that as a page name, correct? That’s what I found out in the FB user group.

    Hi Mark,

    You should be able to create a page with that name.

    I tried it in my test site and it works without issues.

    Please make sure there are no other page or post with that slug.

    You need to check in your trash too.
