Archive / can I create a link to a .step file?

    I have a client who wants to put links on the website to .step files, which are autocad (Solidworks) files used in his industry. I don’t have the software, and they won’t upload in the media gallery. Is this possible?

    Hello Rick,

    Thanks for posting in. Unfortunately, that filetype is not supported by wordpress. See this link for supported files:https://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/. That is possible by creating a folder inside your installation and uploading it via FTP. For example, login to your hosting via FTP, then go to this folder wp-content/themes/x-child. Create a folder here like stepfiles. Upload the file inside that folder. Then to access it use this link http://www.stillwelljacks.com/wp-content/themes/x-child/stepfiles/yourfilesname.step
