Sarah WParticipantHi,
Like many people I need a calendar and the best one around, events-calendar, seems to have a lot of problems with X Theme.
I just bought the PRO version and it looks like Ive wasted $89 as both parties blame the other for the failure. It shows up fine on other wordpress themes but not X Theme, which I’ve started using for all my sites
I’m hoping that given the dates of some of the threads (years old)asking about this, that there may have been some kind of resolution?
I’m just wondering what I’m supposed to do if X Theme can’t supply the name of any calendar plugin that will work with their theme? Just buy different themes from now on? It seems a shame based on that one failure. Such a good theme otherwise. I know x theme doesn’t hold themselves responsible for the failure of a third party plugin, but I think you should probably feel some responsibility for providing a reliable alternative.Too many people are asking about the same problem.May 28, 2016 at 8:54 pm #1014835
RadModeratorHi Sarah,
Thanks for writing in.
The richer the feature, the more complication, and incompatibility. Other plugins such as Woocommerce, BuddyPress, bbPress, Visual Composer, and more are needed to be integrated to X theme, Events Calendar is not an exception. The difference is we don’t have Events Calendar’s integration yet. But the similar from other themes, you can customize X theme to add your own integration.
Regardless of theme, customization standard is the same since it’s running under WordPress. The only difference is function naming, template naming, and folder locations.
The other theme that you’re referring has minimal feature, where generic templates are provided. And most plugin will work on generic/standard templates. Events Calender has its own templates too, and that is similar to Woocommerce, Buddypress, or bbPress. If you’ll remove those templates from X theme, then expect that it will fail too.
The workaround is to create your own integration based on the templates provided by Events Calendar https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/template-overview/. Evey plugin has their own standard, then even provide the manual or documentation how it can be done, because it’s the fact that, it’s not gonna integrate itself automatically 🙂
Or stay tuned until we provide the integration.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure about other events plugin, you can try them one by one.
Thanks for understanding.
