Scott MSpectatorHey there, just running some tests with buddypress.
This plugin has been a nightmare on mobile so far. In order to comment or reply to a post, you have to click on “members” or another link, and then go back to the activity page for the comment/reply button to work.
Scrolling is a disaster…when you hit your thumb over a link as you scroll, it stops you from scrolling (which is like every two seconds). Sometimes it brings you back to the top of the page. I also have had 404 errors and missing page errors with BuddyPress Pages. At one point, I couldn’t add a new pages and link them to anything. I would create a new page and it would show up in “my pages”, but once I went to the URL, there were just errors and it also wouldn’t open in cornerstone. This was fixed upon deactivating the plugin and reinstalling wordpress…BUT, It keeps happening off and on for no apparent reason.
The rt media plugin for adding pictures has just as many glitches. I have tried all combos and deleted and re-uploaded everything.
I have no URLS for you to test. Up to date with X and WP and BP, and have tried old versions. iphone 6 and LG android are among the test phase.
Just curious if you have any answers or better ideas for a social networking site? I’ve tested about 100 reputable WP plugins now, and BuddyPress is BY FAR the WORST one I’ve dealt with. I’m not sure it’s a good idea to offer BP as an X Theme approved extension. I have never really had any Glitchy Code issues with X Theme or WP before. This has been the worst experience yet and about 10 hours of problem solving frustration (and still no answers).
thanks

RupokMemberHi Scott,
BuddyPress and bbPress are two of the most popular plugins for this and we have seamless integartion with X for both. Choice is subjective hence it might not be ideal for you but they are still the best options. And we really not aware of such issues you mentioned. As BuddyPress is free plugin; you could reach to their support easily. They will be best to answer your question regarding this.
Consider this thread as closed and all question regarding BuddyPress should be asked to their support/forum.
Cheers!

Scott MSpectatorSo check this out… I took your word that everything was working correctly so I gave it one more chance. I deleted the plugins again. I even went into the database and deleted the tables there as well. I re-uploaded everything.
All of my old BuddyPress settings and pages came right back as if they were never deleted. The settings reverted back to my old DELETED copy of BP. I tried to comment on the activity page and post a picture, but same issues occur.
What the … is going on here? How much more a fresh start can I get? I told you in the last message that I even reinstalled WordPress. Why do I have lingering broken files? I have no cache plugin.
I just can’t imagine that posting BP replies/comments works on your end with an iphone 6.
thanks

RadModeratorHi there,
That’s weird, settings should be deleted as unless they store it somewhere else. Or hosting provider has object or memory caching that even deleting database is has no immediate effect. I really can’t tell why as I never had any issue with BuddyPress like from your side.
Do you get the same issue when working on other host or locally?
Thanks!

Scott MSpectatorThanks, ya it’s prob the shared hosting. I’ll have to try on a cloud server and start all over again. I have a feeling there a buddypress bug though. It just doesn’t work fluently.
On desktop it is basically awesome. Mobile basically horrible. Sucks
Thanks
