I have just had an SEO report stating that all the social share links on my portfolio pages are broken anchors.

Do you know what could be causing this?
Is there any way to make these show as legitimate links on the site?

It’s happening on my main portfolio page: http://eyetooth-art.co.uk/portfolio/
and also all the internal links e.g.: http://eyetooth-art.co.uk/portfolio-item/foundry-group/
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Steve

You need to add your social URLs at Appereance > Customizer > Social

    Hope that helps

Thanks but I already did that a really long time ago.

    Any other ideas?

I really don’t want to be panalised with my SEO due to a theme defect.

    Hi There,

What checker you’re using? I check the page with two different broken links checker and it did not report the social icons as broken link.

You can just turn off those social buttons on Customizer under Portfolio since you already have the share-it plugin.

    Thanks.

Thanks for looking into this. I am using this service to check my sites SEO: https://online.webceo.com.

I would prefer to keep the sharing links shown under each portfolio entry as well as the share-it plugin, but may experiment with it to see whether I can find a solution to the issue.

Do you think it could be caused by a conflict between the two plugins?

    Hi Steve,

The links are not broken, if you click tem they will launch the modal, they will not lead to a 404 page.

If we had a href address there it would take you to a different page instead of launching the sharing modal, it is intentionally built that way.

Your SEO checker probably do not see that but there is no 404 being generated on any of those links.

    Hope that helps
