    In the widget areas you would like the recent post with pictures appear, don’t use the recent posts widget. Please use the text widget and use the x shortcode recent posts.

    Great, that works but now another issue.

    In Appearance > Manage Sidebars > Blog Sidebar

    I selected the sidebar to appear for all taxonomies and also checked Child Page Display ( so it should appear in any blog post, I think) but it does not. See attached images.

    URL is the same as above.

    So not sure what you are facing.

    Try going into the blog post itself and you will there is no side bar:

    Thank you for the credentials. Please add widgets on Main Sidebar on Appearance > Widgets to show sidebar content by default. For custom sidebar, like Blog Sidebar, please tick each post under All Pages and Post on Appearance > Sidebar.See attached images.
