kurisu777ParticipantHi there,
I am admittedly a raw beginner here. These Q’s will scream that I know. Apologies
However I am confused about the creating the layout for my blog page. I am using the Icon stack.
I have included 2 attachments of how I wish my posts to look on my blog page from a design structure perspective.(see attachment 1 and 2)
(The first post showing say 100 words then a READ more link.
Directly below that first post, I desire other posts including images and short 60 word entries with options to read more if clicked upon.)However I cannot figure out how to do this. If I click on my blog link in the menu bar, it takes me to the blog page in which the most recent blog is shown in full. In the customiser I set the limit to 60 words yet the full content shows.
Is the vision which I seek possible in ICON? Or am I stuck with the most recent post shown and then the other posts simply found in the sidebar #recent post section”?
Also where would I select the option to have the sidebar on the right on the “blog page”?
I am editing the posts page in the WP editor too and cannot seem to find where to make these changes.
Do these question make sense? I am feeling a bit lost as to how to accomplish what I have in mind.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! Please keep in mind that each of the stacks present in X has a unique individual designs. In Icon stack which you have chosen for your site, the sidebar in this stack will be displayed as fixed left or fixed right. If you want something that has a normal left or right sidebar and would scroll along with the pages, I would recommend that you try out other stacks.
Once you have selected the right stack for your site, you can always set the position of your sidebar in the customizer, Appearance > Customize > Layout & Design > Content Layout. You’ll need to set it as Content Left, Sidebar Right or Sidebar Left, Content Right. And then you will also have an option for your blog, Appearance > Customize > Blog. You can select the style, layout and columns for your blog index. You have more other options. Please keep in mind that the resulting layout with all these settings, the blog index has been carefully thought and designed uniquely. Always remember that the blog index and its content will be dynamically generated by WordPress. The normal WordPress blog index cannot and will not be edited in Cornerstone. To fully understand how this works and how you can assign a blog page, please check the codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page#Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
If you have any other questions, since as you said you are a newbie in using WordPress, the codex and out knowledge base could really help and guide you how you can make the most of the X theme. Please check it here: https://community.theme.co/kb/
Hope this helps.
