    Hello,

I just notice that each image I upload to my website is being added as a blog post and taking up permalinks I would want to use as pages. For example http://envisioncanada.org/europe/ is a blog post because the title of the image was europe. I did not create this page or any pages for my blog, but each time I upload an image it is added to the blog with a permalink of /title-of-the-image. Is there a way to turn this off? I do not want the blog at all currently and I need to be able to use permalinks for pages like /europe…

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best,

    Matt

    Hi Matt.

Could you give us a step by step description of the process you are doing when uploading the images?

    Thanks,

    Joao

It depends on the image, but generally just adding an image block in cornerstone and then uploading the image. I have done a little research and found some things suggesting it could be due to settings within Yoast SEO. Any thoughts on that as a culprit?

    Hi Matt,

Are you still facing this issue?

I have created a page and saved as a draft in Cornerstop uploaded a picture and saved the page and I couldn’t see any strange behavior.

I also uploaded another image via media library and also nothing.

The images are there it is a cow and an hippopotamus feel free to delete , also the page is still there saved as a draft, also delete it. I just left all there so in case you notice any strange behavior related to them you can let us know.

I checked the posts, there was no new posts, checked the portfolio, no new portfolio items.

Let us know more details if you are still facing these problem.

    Thanks,

    Joao

    Hi Joao,

I am still having issues. As you can see at this URL a blog post was created for the images you uploaded http://envisioncanada.org/10150714_731804646840030_323686629_n/. 10150714_731804646840030_323686629_n/ is the title of the hipo picture you uploaded. I want to be able to add images without each one having a blog post created taking the title of the image as the perma link.

I have also checked the posts, pages, links, etc. and cannot find out where these pages are being stored or how they are being created.

    Please advise.

    Best,

    Matt

    Hi Joao,

Have you been able to look into this further?

    Hi Matt,

All media that are uploaded have become attachments with their own unique permalinks. That’s WordPress standard and can’t be changed. It’s unique on its kind, but that means it can be identical to pages.

Here http://envisioncanada.org/europe/, your Europe page is overridden by Europe media because they have the same name. Do not upload images with the name identical to your pages. The solution is deleting the image and upload it with a different name (eg. europe-banner.png), or renaming your Europe page to something else.

    Thanks!
