brdlyParticipantHi,
I have done quite a lot of customizing and my site is slowly getting there. But for some reason I can only see my blog excerpts on one of my blog posts. The URL for the page in question is http://www.bradleycummingsphotography.com.au/blog
I can’t figure out why. Any suggestions or advice would be really welcome.
Oh, and it’s X integrity v4.5.1 and I’m running my own child theme for customization.
Thanks,

Rue NelModeratorHello Brad,
Thanks for writing in! An auto-generated excerpt will have all shortcodes and tags removed. It is trimmed down to a word-boundary and the default length is 55 words. WordPress generates an excerpt automatically by selecting the first 55 words of the post. If in case you are using Cornerstone or custom shortcodes, the auto excerpt fails because it will detect that the content is using shortcodes. This is what happen in your posts. There are no auto excerpt being generated since you have created your post with Cornerstone or with a custom shortcode. To display the excerpt, you have to use the manual excerpts. To add an excerpt to a post, simply write one in the Excerpt field under the post edit box. Please see the screenshot below: http://prntscr.com/9j98do
Excerpts are optional hand-crafted summaries of your content that can be used in your theme. Learn more about manual excerpts here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt

brdlyParticipantOh, that’s just too embarrassingly simple. And I obviously had no clue!
Thanks for such a fast response — I’m really pleased now with the way I’ve got the blog looking.
