ploueyParticipantHi all.
I’m just diving into WordPress/X theme as I’ve been given this from previous sys admin. Anyway, I updated from 2.X to the latest verison of X (4 something) and the [block_grid] stuff is causing problems. If the [block_grid] is set to X, when I look at the page it’s 1 less and the extra item is over the page. EG
Old [block_grid] set to three
X X XNew [block_grid] set to three: last items is on new row.
X X
XIs there anywhere I should look to fix this? Its really weird. Sorry if I haven’t given enough info
Regards

FriechModeratorHi Damien,
Thanks for writing in! 2.x to 4.x is kind of a long jump, you might have other issues than the block_grid, rest assured that we will help you get through on this.
But first, please update everything to the latest version from WordPress (4.6.1), X|Theme (4.6.4), Cornerstone (1.3.3), plugins, and extensions. You can refer to this page: https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ for the latest extensions that is supported by the latest X|Theme.
Then deactivate and delete the X – shortcodes plugin. Cornerstone is taking over for X – Shortcodes, which you can read much more about here in detail.
If you have a child theme, please update it as well by following this post: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/update-messed-up-site-2/#post-780902
Remember to clear all caches after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Let us know how it goes.
Cheers!

ploueyParticipantHi,
After updating plugins and rangling with the X verification system (our staging wordpress is hosted internally…) I managed to get all plugins updated, which fixed my block_grid issue (except for some grids which is five-up, which I believe block_grid doesn’t support but I think I saw a solution in another thread). But when I go to try and edit a page, it take forever to load, and when it does eventually (if just click on link, I think “Edit with Visual Composer” or “Edit with Cornerstone” hangs), there is nothing there, just the normal page edit header info, but no content. I think the old pages were written in Visual Composer. The site still looks to load ok, just now I can’t edit anything. Is there a conversion process I may need?

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
You’ve created the page outside CS so you won’t be able to edit it with CS.
Visual Composer has a Frontend Editor. You can enable it in Settings > Visual Composer > X Integration. However, we can’t recommend the use of the front end editor, which is why it’s disabled by default. If you use the front end editor, you should use the Visual Composer native shortcodes. Due to complexities in how the front end editor works, it’s difficult to get all our shortcodes to work seamlessly with it, without rewriting a good deal of them. As mentioned in our Visual Composer Knowledge Base article, this is not something we’re able to provide support for.You should be able to edit the page using backend editor. If you need further assist, please provide us with URL and login credentials.
Thanks.

ploueyParticipantI’ve updated all the internal URLs to point to my new url, disabled VisualComposer front end editor, but still cannot get to the backend editor. See attached screen shots. When I press “Front Page” or “edit” below it, it waits a long while, then it returns and there is nothing (2nd screenshot) to edit. Is there anywhere to fix up the backend editor (even if I get to HTML code).
===== EDIT =====
looks like its fixed, turns out WordPress wasn’t at latest, it though it was and I believed it. Updated it and editing the backed seems to be working now. thanks
