RitchiebParticipantHello team,
I updated my plugins and theme and it now gives my a blak page after i’m trying to login to the back-end of my site.
I just saw two other post dealing about the same issue.
Your answer was: “Thanks for writing in! No, we did not notice any conflict between x and wp3-total-cache. It might be the error occurred on update process and it failed. Try deleting your wp3-total-cache plugin entirely and re-install it”.
I have a question before i completely do that. After deleting the wp3-total-cache plugin (I didn’t actually delete it yet; I put it in a temp-directory) But after doing that and trying to go to the admin panel i get a screen which says (i translated it into English so maybe it’s a bit different than the original English message)
“UPDATE DATABASE REQUIRED WordPress is renewed. Before you can do your thing, we need to update your database to the latest version. This update can take a while so be patient”
My question to you: is that a normal message and should i give that a go and after then i’m able to reinstall the WP3 cache plugin?
Thanks already for your answer
Kind regards,

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
Have you done some database restoration or did you update your WordPress from the older version? That’s more related to WordPress Core than the theme or cache plugin. All of them has no capability to do that unless programmed or your host has automatic-update that install latest WordPress core without you noticing it.
Try upgrading your database, if it’s not working then restore to its older version. And make sure to have a clean install of WP3.
Thanks!

RitchiebParticipantI manually updated to the latest WP-version and also to the latest X theme and cornerstone. Furthermore i updated all my plugins. So actually i did it all at the same time. I have learned my lesson to update one at the time to see if it doesn’t give me any trouble.
But your last line: do you say that i can enter on that message? Cause i’m a bit afraid that i will cause me even more troubles.
And by restoring it back you mean to put a copy of the WP3 cache back in the plugins folder?
Thanks again

RadModeratorHi there,
What do you mean? If you’re referring to upgrading database, yes, please try it first according to that message. If it’s not working then restore the entire site back again.
Restoration will put a copy of deleted files back again, you don’t need to put a copy of it. Once it’s restored, delete W3 cache again and its plugin before doing the updates.
Thanks!
