    Hi,

I want to add a full-width header-like image to the top of the recent posts page, which is the first page people see on my site. What’s the best way to do that?

    Thanks,

    John

By the way, while we’re at it, second question: What do I need to do to get rid of the white gap at the bottom of the pages?

    Hi There,

You’re using the Twenty Seventeen Theme. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or Themes, due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s theme. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this.

    Thanks for understanding.

I am not using the Twenty Seventeen Theme. I am using the X Theme.

I may have had the X Theme deactivated for a period of 3 or 4 minutes, as I was checking to find out for certain whether the X Theme is causing a open_basedir_restriction error. It is.

I would really appreciate some help here. I asked a simple and VERY GENERAL question, one which did NOT require knowing my exact site. After waiting for hours, I was told to provide my site name, and I did, and patiently waited for hours MORE for an answer, only to be told I am using the Twenty Seventeen theme, which I am not.

Now am I going to have to wait more hours for a decent reply to a simple question? How many more hours am I going to have to wait until you will answer my question?

I would really appreciate some help here.

    Thank you,

    John W

You didn’t respond to my second question, either.

I have two questions. I have been waiting for 14 hours now, and I would really appreciate it if you would answer them, and do so in such a way that I don’t have to wait another 14 hours for an actual, real answer.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

#1 Please add following code in Customize -> Custom -> Global JavaScript :

    jQuery("<img src='https://theme.co/media/x-bg-pages.jpg' style='width:100%;'>").insertBefore(".blog .x-container.max.width.offset");

#2 Please disable ‘Footer widget areas’ under Customize -> Footer.

Additionally, for future reference we kindly ask that our users not bump their threads as stated in our support policy. Since we answer questions from oldest to newest and bumping a thread makes it appear as brand new, this will only serve to lengthen our response time. Replies in the forum can take up to 24 hours during the week, but oftentimes we are able to get to questions much quicker than that. We request that our users wait patiently while we work our way through the forum as we can assure you that all questions will be addressed as soon as possible.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you, Christopher. Both answers were exactly what I needed. So you did well there.

The thing you should understand, from the customer’s point of view, is how frustrating it is when questions seem to be put off rather than answered, when it seems they could be answered, because each and every cycle of “please give us a bit more information” or “you may wish to consult a developer” adds hours to the process of getting an answer.

As a final note, I don’t “bump” support threads, for the very reason you mentioned. My additional note was placed one minute after the previous thing I wrote, and was designed to try and avoid yet another round of having to wait hours for an answer to the second question.

    Thanks again for your help.
