    I’m working on restyling the theme on one of my sites and have been poking around the forum for best practices to follow and obstacles to avoid.

    Is it accurate to sum up the best approach with CSS modifications should go in Custom Code and only use the child theme to edit the templates?

    Hi Josh,

    Thanks for writing in! Yes that’s right. CSS modification should go under Customizer > Custom > CSS and if you need to change templates then that should be done with Child Theme.

    You can keep a backup of your Customizer Settings from Customizer Manager under X Addons menu.
