ReannaParticipantHey Themeco!
I have just noticed today that forum threads that are being posted are no longer showing within the forums, nor are they showing up on our “latest activity” widget. We use BBpress for our forums and never had an issue, I updated to the latest theme update but nothing has changed. I have tried disabling all my plug-ins which did not fix the issue so it has lead me to believe it’s a theme issue.
Here is an example of our General Discussion forum (these are the posts that show):

However if I was to put “/?view=all” at the end of the forum link it would show two more threads (one marked as “Test”).

This only recently started happening, members try to post there own threads but they don’t show up, yet went then reply in a current thread it has no issues. I have checked all my user role rights as well, nothing out of the ordinary.Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!!Reanna.

ChristianModeratorHey there,
Please check if your are running the latest supported version of bbPress. See https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/.
If so, please give us the URL of your site also.
Thanks.

ReannaParticipantThe web address is http://grouptherapyoc.com/forums/
I was currently running the latest BBpress version 2.5.10 but after checking your compatibility page I should be running the older 2.5.8 which I have now done. Sadly this has not fixed the issue of new posts not showing up.
Thanks,

NicoModeratorHi There,
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.

As stated above I have tried disabling all my plug-ins which did not fix the issue so it has lead me to believe itβs a theme issue. π

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
I did further investigation and it turns out that
/?view=alldisplay all forum post including the trashed post. This is why it shows a big difference. Please try to empty your trash bin and compare the result.Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

ReannaParticipantHey Rue Nel, after checking the missing threads are indeed marked as trash, which brings up further questions as to why people’s posts are automatically being put in the trash. Any ideas? π
Thanks again,

RadModeratorHi there,
I can’t verify it if it’s automatic. I in all my installation, I could only delete threads or posts manually and I don’t see any reason why the developer will make it automatic. Two possibilities, a user deleted them or a 3rd party feature deletes them programmatically.
You may want to check your user’s role and capability, maybe they are allowed to edit and delete them. And you can test it by creating same account with role and capability and delete some test posts.
Thanks!
