    Hi,

I’ve followed a few threads regarding this topic. My background video–in mp4 format–does not load in Firefox (and displays a peculiar shade of green!) or in Safari (where at least it’s the same purple as I’ve used in the colour palette throughout).

I don’t use a caching plugin, and have tested in private browsing where the result is the same. For me this is important since the service we’re advertising is creating websites with X – and not being able to find a solution means our credibility is undermined.

Any advice or possible solutions would be appreciated! Thanks,

    Louisa

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in.

Yes, even on Window’s firefox, the video isn’t playing even by accessing the video directly, then it hangs.

Please make sure that your video is formatted as MP4 H.264, and make the file size smaller. The 9.6mb is too big just for 12 seconds video, try making it smaller since the viewport you’re displaying is small too.

Or host your video file to any media streaming services, it hangs on firefox because it’s trying to download the files before it plays, but it got stuck and loop.

    Thanks!

Thanks for replying so promptly. I will search for a service which converts, but do you have any recommendations? thanks

let us know how it goes.

    Cheers!

It worked. And I learned something new (yet another thing!). Thanks.
