Craig CorfieldParticipantHi support,
I have a background video on my homepage and my site takes forever to load. about 26 seconds. Could you assist with this? have i done something wrong with the implementation? Its a very small video.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
What is the size of your video in mb?
Here is a link with some suggestions of how to compress your video,
If your video is already small I suggest you searching a more powerful hosting provider.
Hope it helps,
Joao

Craig CorfieldParticipantVideo size is 19MB. Please can you share the link.
Not an option to switch hosting provider.

Craig CorfieldParticipantI have compressed the video to 6MB but the site still loads very slowly still.

Craig CorfieldParticipantI have even removed the background video and loaded a simple image (250KB) as the background and the site still loads slowly. Could some of the CSS be slowing the site down or causing the issue? All other websites on the server are loading very fast (Some with the same theme)

Craig CorfieldParticipantAdditional info: When navigating in the admin centre the site is fast but when trying to view the site it is incredibly slow. So i dont believe it is a hosting issue but rather something on the theme or something i have done to the theme.

ChristianModeratorWould you mind testing for a plugin conflict? You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks.

Craig CorfieldParticipantHi it seems to be the woocommerce paypal plugin that was causing the site to load slowly. This is a fairly essential plugin so how do i work around it. Any other woocommerce payment plugin i can try?

JoaoModeratorHi Craig,
Unfortunately we cannot recommend you any third party plugin,
I believe the best solution for you would be to consult our X Theme Facebook Group.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/xthemeusers/
The group counts with beyond 8000 users and for sure people will have some good recommendations for you.
Hope it helps
