Sam MParticipantHello!
So I love X – it’s a great theme.
Everything was working great with my site, and then i updated WP to 4.5.2. Now, when I go into a page and try to use the backend editor, all it does it spin and say “loading please wait” and then never loads.
This is an issue for me because I composed everything on my pages using this editor and when i switch into classic mode, I am not seeing any images, etc.
Please let me know how to fix this so I don’t need to re-do everything in order to make a simple change!
Thanks!

JadeModeratorHi Sam,
As I have checked the version of your theme is quite outdated. Kindly try to update the theme and the plugins to the latest version but before doing so, make sure to keep a backup of your site.
Let us know how it goes.

Sam MParticipantHello
Sorry it took me so long to get to this! thanks for your help.i have updated the theme to the latest version of X.
I am still getting the same error – i try to use the editor and it won’t let me. it just spins. i also am trying to use the front end editor and it isn’t working either.i tried to update the visual composer plugin and it’s not working – do i need to buy it separately? will that fix this issue?
i’m not a developer so please let me know the easiest way to fix this. i can’t update my site as i did everything with the visual composer!
thanks

Rue NelModeratorHello Sam,
I have checked and see that you have updated X to the latest version which is version 4.6. Yet you are still using X shortcodes plugin. Please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which should be automatically installed for you.
Based on the screenshots, the update failed because you haven’t validated X yet. Please do validate X by following these steps:
1] Please login to your account and assign the license. You need to assign the license to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
2] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license code. And please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

Sam MParticipantHI there
Thanks for this.
before I go any further… I am not a developer.
Can you do this for me? if so, what would the cost be?
thanks!July 7, 2016 at 12:36 pm #1076710
JoaoModeratorHi Sam,
You don´t need to be a developer to do any of that, you just need to follow the steps. But we can help you.
I have deactivated and deleted X-Shortcode plugins for you and activated Cornerstone 1.3
Now you need to do the following.
1- Go to this page and assign your license to your URL( http://rmgexposed.ca ): https://community.theme.co/my-licenses/
2- Login in your Wp Admin Dashboard, Click Addons and insert your license number there.
That is all! 🙂
Hope it helps
Let us know if you need further help.
