smboyceParticipantI saved all of the files on my website using FTP to save a local copy when I deleted the old version months ago. Now that I’m rebuilding the website, all I have is the FTP files. I didn’t realize you needed to go to the customizer export, so I didn’t do that. Is there any way to recover the customized design (colors, fonts, previous sliders, etc.) from the FTP? Or is that lost forever since I didn’t use the export feature?
I’m really hoping you can help me recover the site from the FTP. As I look at it now, nothing copying the wp-content folder over to the new site via ftp did nothing, and none of my old website is showing.
Update: shoot, I just saw this one. I don’t have the database (I downloaded to posts and pages, thinking that would be enough). Does this mean everything’s gone?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully you can not restore your WordPress site with just the files in your FTP. All the post, pages, users, post meta and even the customizer settings were being saved in the database. You should have backup everything including your database. You can even use 3rd party plugin like WP Backup to handle this job for you.
I just hope that your hosting provider have a server backup (which they should have as always). You can ask some assistance from them to be able to restore your site along with its database.
Hope this helps.
