    Hi I’m having an issue updating x theme and am getting this message:

    An error occurred while updating X: Download failed. Operation timed out after 299746 milliseconds with 2102892 out of 3801195 bytes received

    I’m assuming its a server error. Could you please let me know what I should ask the host company?

    Hi Liza,

    Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

    Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Hi there,

    Before I do the update, would you mind getting a backup of your site? The update may break any existing setup, and I can’t do it on a live site. You can also duplicate/clone your site into staging where we can test the update.

    I’ve backed up my site with ‘All in one migration’ plugin.

    Also this development site is in the subdirectory of /chocojelly. I have another instance in the main root directory with a coming soon page. Is it ok to use the same licence key for both of these sites as they are both using the same domain.

    Hello There,

    It is allowable to use the same license key. You can assign two urls, a main site and a development site for one single license. Please do the following:
    1] Please login to your account and assign the license. You need to assign the license to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
    2] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again.

    And please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

    Thanks for updating the theme for me. Could tell me how you were able to update it? Did you perform a manual update through FTP etc?

    Hi

    Unfortunately i’m now getting a ‘Account Suspended’ on my domain. I’ve contacted the host to see if they can let me know why.

    Hi Liza,

    “Account suspended” notice is on the host end. It could be about excessive bandwidth usage, billing etc but only your host can tell us more about it.

    Hi

    The Account Suspended issue on the host server has been resolved. It’s as you suggested, the client needed to pay their hosting bill. So all good now!
