    I am having the hardest time getting agency to install! The progress bar seems to be perpetually loading. I’ve cleared cache and don’t know what else to do. Frankly, I’m nearing my wits end.

    I’m not a really big techie but I have read a bit about some reasons why this may be occurring, I just don’t know how to fix them myself. I am on a host gator shared plan. Would upgrading to a VPS be a quick fix for this or is there another work around?

    Thanks,

    Geoff

    I’d also like to note that I don’t think it’s a permissions issue since I tested the install of Integrity without any issues.

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in! Please contact HostGator support chat and making this request:

    “Please whitelist rule ID 1234234”

    And please update your Cornerstone in the latest version.

    And if that did not work, would you mind if we try to install Agency demo our-self? Because this will overwrite any settings you made on the customizer.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for replying Friech!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    I tried both suggestions and none of them worked I’m afraid.

    Yes please! You have my full permission to install the demo yourselves! Once it is successful, would you mind telling me what the problem was for me?

    Hi there,

    Please connect to FTP and increase memory limit by adding following lines to wp-config.php file :

    define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M' );
    define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );

    Hope it helps.

    Hello There,

    I am another staff checking on this thread! I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.2.17 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Hereโ€™s a letter you can send to your hosting company:

    Dear host,

    I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and
    I was wondering if my account supported the following:

    - PHP 5.6 or greater
    - MySQL 5.6 or greater
    - The mod_rewrite Apache module

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.

    Rue Nel to the rescue!!!!

    So my host told me that he could not update the MySQL 5.6 unless I switch to a VPS (starting at $1,000 is a little pricey right now) but he updated the PHP to 5.6 and the mod rewrite apache module is active.

    My last remaining question is, since he could not update the MySQL to 5.6 on my shared plan, will I (or my visitors) encounter any functionality issues as it relates to Agency?

    Thanks again mate!!!

    Hi Again,

    Thanks for the updates! I have checked again and you have MySQL version 5.5.48. I think this version would work out for the moment. I have checked several sites using this version. The only must have is that the PHP version should be at least 5.6. My suggestion is that you just make use the most of this MySQL version.

    Hope this helps.
