Hi guys, I’m using the Renew stack and have purchased ‘Mega Main Menu’ to add an additional menu that I wanted to position directly below the header on each page.

From what I can make out the X theme supports 2 positions (header and footer). Would it be difficult for me to create another menu location for the theme so I can keep the original two and add the ‘Mega Main Menu’ as described? If so, what’s involved?

    Thank-you for a great theme!

Here is an example site with a mega menu below the header: http://england.shelter.org.uk/

..in the same location as I am aiming for.

    Hey Marc,

Thanks for writing in and for your very kind words about the theme. 🙂 If the plugin works as I would expect, you shouldn’t need to add another for this to work, it should hook into one of our own. For these types of implementations you will need to work with the plugin developer on this as this is part of a third party plugin which we don’t support as stated in our support policy in the sidebar since it’s not native X functionality.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Yes you are right it does replace the themes existing menus, in fact it can ONLY replace the existing menu’s – but that’s not the question I’m asking. I want to add a 3rd menu location to the theme BELOW the header. How do I add an additional menu location in the X theme?

    Hey Marc,

To add a menu in the theme please see http://codex.wordpress.org/Navigation_Menus. Please add the wp nav menu in wp-header.php located in framework\views\renew of the X theme. Or, replicate the file path then copy and modify wp-header.php there.

As to exactly how to edit it, we’re sad to say that we couldn’t help you with that as it is beyond our scope of support.

    Hope that helps. 🙂
