I’m wanting to add the fontawesome money icon to the list of social icons to facilitate online giving for a church site. I’ve modified <child-theme>/framework/functions/global/social.php by adding code after line 41 (41 & 42 shown for clarity):

$output = ‘<div class=”x-social-global”>’;
$output .= ‘ <i class=”x-icon-money” data-x-icon=”” aria-hidden=”true”></i> ‘;

It’s not working. What’s the proper solution?

So then as a general rule (??):
If the change is a view type file we follow the parent folder structure and copy the parent file into that structure in the child theme folder and make our changes there.
But if it’s one of the functions we put all of thsose changes in child-theme/functions.php
