    Hi,

    So I did some searching and found a few threads on this topic, but it didn’t solve my problem. I am trying to add a favicon to my site. I converted my 152×152 .png to an .ico and then attempted to add it to my media in the wordpress dashboard to generate a link. When I attempted to upload the .ico file to media in wordpress it says “sorry this file type is not permitted for security reasons.” Can someone help me add this .ico file so that I can create my favicon? Thanks in advance!

    Hi there,

    You can simply upload your icon file manually to your server by connecting through your FTP account using a FTP Client (FileZilla Client). Then use the full path to your icon file and set it under your Customizer.

    Hope that’s clear.

    Hi Darshana,

    Thanks for the help! I have read that uploading it to the Media panel in wordpress is the easiest way to do it? Is there a way that you can help me figure it out this way? The way you described above seems complicated and I am not sure that I understand what to do?

    Try uploading to your Media library and get the URL (see attachments).
