Pink ZParticipantI have set up a custom meta data field called “sales” with the new ACF Pro add-on. On my posts I have assigned a number value to this field so that I can sort my posts by sales rank. I have successfully used this new field in the “Meta Key Filter” section of the “Source” tab of TheGrid “Settings” page. Works perfectly there as a global starting point filter for TheGrid.
I really want this new meta data field to be one of my sorting options in the “Filter/Sort” tab. I can currently sort my posts by “Date” and “Title”. I really want to add my new custom “sales” field but it is not listed in the “Select Sortings” menu. How do I add my new custom field to that list so I can sort my TheGrid results according to this new field?
I’m so close…

RadModeratorHi there,
Looks like your site isn’t propagated yet? It’s displaying your hosting’s parking page instead of your site. Do I need some hosts file setup?
Thanks!

Pink ZParticipantI’m not sure what you mean. Maybe my hosting service was down for a moment? Would you please try again? Everything seems to be functioning.
Thanks!

Pink ZParticipantLet me try and figure out why that is happening. Maybe a wordpress security plug is blocking you? I’ll get back soon with a solution.
Sorry about this problem 🙁

Pink ZParticipantGreat, I’m glad the login finally worked!
That “Sales rank” is left over from a previous attempt at trying to make this work. If you are in the Custom Fields settings you can find my old “Sales rank” fields in the trash.
I don’t know how “Sales rank” populated that list of sorting options in TheGrid. Maybe from some help from you guys? I’m not sure. It didn’t function at all even though it was in the list. I also don’t understand why it is still there even though I trashed the actual “Sales rank” field.
Now that ACF Pro is included in X, I decided to try again and make this work. I deleted my old “sales_rank” field and started a new field called simply “sales”. This new “sales” field is the one I would like to have as a sorting option.
How can I remove the old (and nonfunctioning) “Sales rank” from TheGrid sorting options, and replace it with “sales”?
When I use my new “sales” field to determine the original “Source” for TheGrid, it functions correctly. I have the “Source” of TheGrid set to only include posts that have a “sales” value of greater than 0. Any posts that do not have a value at all for “sales” do not show up in TheGrid, so I know the “sales” field is functioning and I feel like I’m close to getting it to work as a sorting option.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
Here are my findings.
1. The Grid doesn’t utilize all post meta added by ACF, source filtering works but not on sort navigation.
2. ACF removes post meta from standard Custom Field Listing of the same name, eg. “sales” is removed from the list, but when I add a different name like “sales-by-x”, it just stays there. http://pinkzebramusic.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2082&action=editACFP and The Grid might not be compatible at this moment. Been trying to solve this too with no luck, stay tuned and I’ll forward this as bug.
Thanks!
