ok so ive read the article on https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-acf-pro/ but im still confused

it says this is to be used in the comments section .. who would wanna use a contact form in the comment selection?

1. i just want to display the form on the contact us page. but its telling me that i have to install the child theme . then what to so from there to make the form i did visible on the page needed like application form.. and contact us form

2. i want to use it to input while editing the page with cornerstone ..

so do i have to select the blog plugin on the page and select the form or what i just wanna use it please and thanks

also there are updates for the
Advanced Custom Fields PRO and essential grid but no option to click update because its asking for a purchase license

Hey there,

1. Sorry but I’m not sure what you’re trying to achieve here. Do you want a contact form? If so, you should setup Contact Form 7.

If you want to setup an ACF front-end form (see https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/create-a-front-end-form/), that would require custom development as you can see in https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-acf-pro/. This could not be done in Cornerstone out of the box.

Modifying the comments template serves only as a guide on how to integrate ACF PRO in a template file. You don’t have to necessarily do that.

2. Cornerstone supports the display of ACF values only. Entering information to the fields is done in the post’s meta boxes outside of Cornerstone. To display ACF values, please see the Cornerstone Integration section in https://community.theme.co/kb/integrated-plugins-acf-pro/.

so may i ask you what is the main purpose for using the acf? do you not have any videos on how its customized?

Its main purpose is a custom field, like from here https://codex.wordpress.org/Custom_Fields, but more advance. It’s mostly used in development, it’s not the same as other plugins that you can just utilize right away without coding.

That’s a shame, having the possiblity to add custom fileds directly in cornerstone would make it the most powerful tool ever, and so simple.
