    Maybe I’m not understanding how X Theme works, but something appears to be a little broken/backwards here. I’m trying to use shortcodes from the list of provided at;

    Container

    Now, in Cornerstone, there’s a list of shortcodes you can use, however, most of the shortcodes from the above URL are not listed. It seems many of the intergal ones used for structure have been removed.

    Not, a problem… I’ll head over to the editor and build them there, then when I’m done, I’ll head back over to Cornerstone and start filling out eveyrthing out with content. Structure, then content… Good to go. Wait a second, I’m having a message bounced back to me that any changed I make will be lost once I beging working in Cornerstone again! huh?

    This makes no sense. How can I work on a theme (like the one you have here http://demo.theme.co/church/) in Cornerstone that clearly is using shortcodes not implemented in Cornerstone, created by Themeco, but I can’t create my own in the editor without losing my work when I go back to working in Cornerstone?

    How does this work exactly?

    Please advise.

    Hi There,

    Thanks for writing in! Before the Cornerstone has develop, X|Theme has the X|Shortcodes that’s what this shortcodes (http://demo.theme.co/ethos-1/shortcodes/container/) are.

    But then Cornerstone takes over for X|Shortcodes, which you can read much more about here in detail.

    Now on Cornerstone those shortcodes are called elements, unlike shortcodes you don’t need to write this shortcode manually, you just need to drag & drop the elements to your canvas and configure it whatever options they have.

    But don’t worry you can still use the shortcodes (http://demo.theme.co/ethos-1/shortcodes/container/) on X|Theme if you want to. Our Team Dev made sure shortcodes would be still compatible on X|Theme.

    Keep in mind that Cornerstone does not allow editing the page outside of Cornerstone, and you can’t edit the page you started on text editor on Cornerstone. Basically if you start the page building on Cornerstone you should only edit this page inside Cornerstone. Else you’ll lose the Cornerstone data/element like what is happening to your page right now.

    And if for some reason you need to use a shortcode on the Cornerstone, just paste it on a RAW content element or on Text element.

    This demo page: http://demo.theme.co/church/ is built in Cornerstone.

    Hope this shed some lights.

    Cheers!
