    Hey Guys,

We haven’t had this happen yet, but for some reason on this client’s site…we haven’t changed any settings, but when I try to update a couple of plugins I’m getting this error.

It’s for this site – carrienorman.com and I attached the screenshot of the error.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello Mike,

    Thanks for writing in!

As the 504 Gateway Timeout is a server-side error, please contact your host provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.

    Hope it helps.

They can’t find the issue. On top of that, now for some reason we can’t get FB to pull featured images correctly and previous FB posts aren’t showing the pictures from the site anymore on the FB page.

We have not changed one, single, setting. Can anyone please help us?

I’ll reply privately with the login info for the site.

    Thank you!

Just read through all of that and still no fix. It’s so strange..I have other websites on Bluehost and I’m thinking it can’t be a hosting issue, but can’t find another fix.

Anyone else had this issue and know the fix?

    Hi there,

I think it’s best to gather more information from your hosting provider. Even if your sites are hosted on the same provider, it may react or perform different depending on varying factors that contribute to the issue.

Gateway error is the more likely connection between your site and from another remote host (update server). I can’t really tell why as there are no available details about the issue, and only the hosting provider is able to trace it out.

    Thanks!
