spaulgalParticipantHi there–
I’m getting an “Error: Incompatible Archive.” error message when I try to import a slider. I have confirmed that slider was exported using the same version of RevSlider 5.2.4.1

JoaoModeratorHi There,
This error occurs, it seems like the zip file could be corrupted. Please make sure that you can open it normally on your PC and if not, please export again if you can.
If you can normally open in the zip file and it does not seem corrupted.
Can you please share the file here so we can test in our setup?
In the meanwhile you also can test for plugin conflict by disable all third party plugins while trying to import the file to Revolution Slider.
Thanks,
Joao

RupokMemberHi there,
I don’t think you are supposed to import a text format file. Let’s use the correct import file and it should be zipped. Don’t extract this, just import the exported file (zip) as is.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers!

spaulgalParticipantWhen I export the slider from one site it seems to put a folder (not a zip on my desktop) Maybe my computer is unzipping the folder. None the less, I zipped up the folder, tried importing that and now get this error:
Error: slider_export.txt does not exist!Yes, the slider_export.txt file is in the .zip.
In the past (under old versions of RevSlider) I was able to just import the .txt file.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Upon researching I could find that you are correct. Revolution Slider when it comes to users importing or exporting their own content produces a txt file. When it comes to importing sliders templates they are zip files.
I am not sure why your slide is not exporting/importing correctly.
But since I believe it was originally created in another version I will reccomend you a few steps:
Go to the original slider and do a small edit to your original slide and save. You can undo this edit and save it again.
Try exporting the file again and importing again into the other website.
I am not sure if that will work, but it might be worth a try.
Please upload this file again here so we can test.
Let us know how it goes.

RadModeratorHi there,
Are you on Mac? I experienced this too before. When the zip is extracted, and you compressed it back, then it will no longer valid and slider won’t accept it. So I have to import the original zip (unprocessed and direct copy from rev. slider’s export).
Please check this,
https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31919091
Please try exporting it again without extracting it (preserve the copy). The error means that it only accepts a zip package and not a text file. The text file that you provided only contains the serialized data with no valid headers, information, or content as a slider.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
The initial image is part of the video (poster image). It’s from here https://player.vimeo.com/video/109522603?autoplay=0&background=1&title=0&byline=0&portrait=0&api=1&player_id=iframe37316&api=1
The video is from Vimeo and the only way to change its image is through its option.
Thanks.

spaulgalParticipantThat part is fine, I only have a problem with the end. Instead of the video looping, it should go to the next slide after the video plays.
Before I updated to the new version of RevSlider it worked fine.May 14, 2016 at 9:09 pm #991792
RadModeratorHi there,
By this statement “Virtually all of my sliders need to be modified as the attributes did not carry over.”, do you mean it works after modification of attributes?
And thanks for the clarification of the issue, I can only check that if I’m able to login to your admin. Would you mind providing the credentials in private reply?
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
Is it parallax or ken burns effect? They are still working on new version, checking the documentation for new version may help https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/main-background/#image-kenburns
Though, I’m not sure what’s the relation of that setup to the video issue.
How do I log in? It says forbidden when accessing the login page.
Thanks!

spaulgalParticipantIt is the Ken Burns Effect.
The root of the problem is how this effect works.
The old version, you select a “start position” and an “end position”
A typical “start position” would be “Center Top” and a typical end position would be “Center Bottom”
the effect would look good on all devices, and no matter the size of the browser window. The new version does not use “Top” and “bottom” it instead uses numeric values.
While this is good in some respects, it has a bad result overall — because the effect looks different depending on the platform. On some platforms, because of the numeric value, the image will move too much and the composition will look strange, on other platforms the image may not move enough and part of the image may be cut off.
Please let me know the best solution.
We have MANY sliders that now have this problem. -
