LelyModeratorHi There,
Glad you found the root of the issue. Can you try updating the CSS to this while the ConvertPlug plugin is active:
.x-text-type .typed-cursor { color: #000 !important; }Then check again. If this doesn’t work, please do give us the link where the issue exist and please make sure ConvertPlug is active so we can check further.
Thank you.

LelyModeratorHi There,
The CSS is not working because you have missing closing bracket. Please check the following custom CSS:
.x-btn.light-btn:hover { color: #ffffff; border-color: #ffffff; .x-text-type .typed-cursor { color: #000 !important; }Update above to this:
.x-btn.light-btn:hover { color: #ffffff; border-color: #ffffff; } .x-text-type .typed-cursor { color: #000 !important; }We need the closing bracket after this line
border-color: #ffffff;
Hope this helps.March 10, 2016 at 2:06 am #831719
gdi2kParticipantThanks, you’re correct, I was missing a bracket. But adding the bracket did not fix the issue unfortunately.
I still have the black box around the cursor.

LelyModeratorHi There,
The black box is the animation added to replicate the blinking of the cursor.
We can try adding the following CSS to remove the blink animation which is the black box:.x-text-type .typed-cursor { -webkit-animation:none !important; animation: none !important; }Hope this helps.

gdi2kParticipantThanks for your help. The code did remove the black box, but the white cursor no longer flashes. It is static.
I would love it to work just the way it does out of the box (without ConvertPlug plugin). There is no black box, the color of the cursor is the same as the text, and it flashes.
To try and fully explain and avoid confusion, I have made videos showing the differences, as follows:
Video1:
ConvertPlug plugin disabled. This is how it should look. No black box, cursor ( | ) flashes normally.Video2:
ConvertPlug plugin enabled, no extra CSS. Black box is added around the | cursor. The cursor no longer flashes, but the black box does.Video3:
ConvertPlug plugin enabled, the following CSS added:.x-text-type .typed-cursor { -webkit-animation:none !important; animation: none !important; }The black box is gone, but the | cursor no longer flashes. It is static.
Note that this code seems to have no effect:
.x-text-type .typed-cursor { color: #ffffff !important; }March 10, 2016 at 9:22 am #832170
RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. Further customizations from here would be getting into custom development, which is outside the scope of support we can offer. If you need more in depth changes, you may wish to consult with a developer. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
Thanks for understanding.

gdi2kParticipantThanks for the feedback. It’s a bit disappointing that the ConvertPlug plugin, which Themeco endorses, ends up breaking core X theme functionality. Ideally they wouldn’t require custom development work to play nice together, but I understand it can’t be perfect.
Perhaps this could be filed as a bug that could be fixed by the devs one day?
