Suddenly gone very slow after changing themes

I have been changing my themes, looking at the other demos on offer to give my site a ‘fresher look’.
However, upon changing, my site has become very slow with a >15 second wait time, compared to a <2 second wait time prior to this.

Do you have any pointers for how I can resolve this?
No physical code has been altered.

Also, I have noticed that on Mobile, the Menu button is non-clickable

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for asking.

  • Speed: I checked your website and tested the speed on GTmetrix and the page load time is around 11sec. I am sharing link:

https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.matchedbettingforums.com/0d0pviuN

In the test result you will see recommendations, please consider them as that will help to optimize the page load time. One of the suggestion is to optimize images. I suggest you to resize the images and then upload the same on the server. Here’s a tutorial on how you can use GTmetrix and the suggestions.

I am also sharing our performance optimization guide that you can take a look.

  • Mobile menu: Mobile menu is not working because you are using old version of X Theme 5.1.0. As you are using updated version of Cornerstone 3.2.5, please update X Theme to avoid compatibility issues.

To update X Theme please take a look at following resources:

  1. Version compatibility guide: To learn about the latest and compatible versions of bundled and supported plugins, please take a look at following doc:

2. Theme Update guide: Please take a look at following article to update X Theme.

3. Please take a look at following doc about changelog:

Thanks.

Thanks, I have adjusted these and now load times are much better.

Can you assist with a few other queries?

Firstly, my website doesn’t seem to be able to recognise that I am logged into my account, so I have had to set static pages for login, logout etc. Is there a way I can set the login page so that when Im logged in, it says Log Out?

I am using Paid Member Subscription plugin, to control membership on my site.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks again for writing in!

The question you asked is not related to theme functionality. We are really sorry but this is something out of our theme support scope or expertise.

I would encourage you to please check plugins documentation or contact the plugin developer.
If they ask something to do with the theme side, we will happy to help!

Hope this helps!

Im changing themes to get this sorted, however a lot of my pages are written with Cornerstone.

Is there a way to keep cornerstone active whilst using another theme?
Preferably, is there a way I can convert the CS-CONTENT code to support Visual Composer / Bakery?

Thanks

Hello @Tombrulou,

Thanks for updating in!

Please be advised that Cornerstone is a page builder bundled in the theme. Regretfully there aren’t any functionality that you can convert pages created in Cornerstone to support other editor like Visual Composer. You can create your page and post using Cornerstone. You can use Cornerstone as a stand alone plugin with another theme. You just can’t updated it because it will require you to validate it. You cannot use X theme licenses to validate Cornerstone. You will need a separate Cornerstone license if you wish to use it with another theme. You can check out CodeCanyon (https://codecanyon.net/item/cornerstone-the-wordpress-page-builder/15518868)

Meanwhile, what you are looking for cannot be achieve with other themes as well. What you need is a 3rd party plugin.

Hope this helps.
