How can I make a button that is a black line square transparent background - a box with a word i cant seem to see how to make a outline or border

I’d recommend that you use the V2 or Non-classic Button element for this because it has border options. Please see the usage instructions at https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/elements-button/10210
For the Classic button, you will need select Type > Transparent and Shape > Square.
The colors need to be set in Theme Options > Button.
