Sidebar disappeared after upgrade to Pro

Hi X team,

On many pages I lost my sidebar after upgrade to Pro?

Thanks for reaching out.

You mean from X to Pro? The sidebar should stay visible but the widgets will be inactive. Inactive widgets should be re-added to the sidebar, and they are available in Admin > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets

Wordpress reset the widgets when you switch the theme and they all go to inactive area.

Hi x team,

I don’t see any widgets inactive. Also the button Clear Inactive Widgets is greyed out.
So I don’t understand why the don’t show on my set pages?

Hi @smart_x,

In that case, I recommend restoring your site to when it still working (widgets). Then once it’s working again, I recommend creating a staging from it (cloned) and do the updates on your staging. That way, you can have a reference since while you’re working on the other.

You can use All in one migration plugin to export your site as a file and import it to another Wordpress (your staging) using the same plugin.

Then please provide your admin login credentials in a secure note for further checking. As of now, I can’t answer as to why they are gone as I’m not sure what was there and how it was displayed.

Hi @smart_x,

Please activate the pro child theme instead of x child theme, the inactive widgets are available once you activate the pro child theme.

I have my Pro child theme active. Please check my previous post with @RueNel. I agree it’s a bit confusing but we changed the template name of the X child theme.

Hi,

I checked and can see the pro child theme is not active.

Then I navigate to Appearance > Widgets and can see the inactive widgets.

Can you confirm if this is still an issue in your end.

The template name is renamed to Pro. See printscreen. The widget i’m looking is not with the inactive widgets.
