-Revolution slider Error-

Hi. Everything was working fine on site & haven’t changed anything. Today I’m getting this error:

“The plugin revslider/revslider.php has been deactivated due to an error”

Now the Revolution plugin is not showing up under plugins.

Any thoughts?

Hi There,

Please delete the Devolution slider plugin via FTP and Reinstall it throw X Overview page.
Let us know if that works for you. If that doesn’t help please provide us your FTP details to help you on this.

Thanks

Would this delete all the info from my original Slider?

Hi There,

No it should not, please do the following:

  • Login to your server via FTP or cPanel’s file manager, navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the revslider folder.
  • Then go to your WP admin dashboard and navigate to X > Overview > Extensions and install the Slider Revolution (your X Theme needs to be validated or else you wont be able to install this extensions)
  • Then navigate to Plugins panel and activate the Slider Revolution (if its not automatically activated)

This method should retain your sliders settings, but we do not know if your sliders data is also corrupted. So better if you do a full backup of your site first before you do the suggestion above.

Thanks,

Hi.
I tried this, however, after I start to install the ‘Slider Revolution’ I always get an error. It doesn’t say what type of error.

Thanks

Hi there,

I tried it and yes, it won’t install due to error and looks like related to permission. Unfortunately, I can’t get the details of the error since it’s not being logged. Would you mind contacting your hosting provider about the error? Maybe they can find something, and this looks Windows hosting so you may also check if temp folder is writable.

Thanks!

I Can install other plugins from the Plugin Sections & other Extensions from the X > Overview > Extensions section. This is the only one that is not working.
I got this same error the first time I tired to load it (under post ‘Revolution Slider Install Error’ on Dec 17th) however someone from your staff was able to fix it. However, now I’m getting the error again.

Hi There,

I’m a different staff tried to debug your issue but I couldn’t. It seems that your issue is windows server and configuration related.

As mentioned above, the best way would be to escalate through your hosting provider as they have full access to your error logs.

Thanks!

Thanks.
I had the site upgraded from a windows server to Linux. I tried it again after deleting the folders. I get the same error. But now I can see what it says. The error is, ‘Destination folder already exists.’

Hi There,

This error ‘Destination folder already exists.’ means that there is already a folder named revslider on this directory /wp-content/plugins/, please back read and do my instruction above.

If that does not work, please provide us cPanel credentials in a secure note.
You can also delete a directory via FTP but that will take a while.

Thanks,

Thank you. I was deleting it via ftp. Although it showed it was deleted it was still there in the file manager. Deleting it in the file manager allowed me to reinstall it.

Thank you,

devin
