I want to replicate the look of demo.theme.co/ethos-1/. What I am trying to get is: content area divided into two smaller areas, with image on the left,m and header + text on the right. Example: the “Post A Compelling Question” section.

That is the default design of Ethos for blog page.
For the demo, the homepage was set to display latest posts.
You then need to add posts with featured image.

I’m using the church demo, and I think it’s a different stack.
Is there any hope for me to change my blog posts and category pages to look like this? I’m wondering if there are full blown demos somewhere. The blog posts don’t look very good on my site. http://dev.terislater.com/category/debt/

Thanks for updating in! Regretfully the Filter by Topic is a feature exclusively available in Ethos stack. This isn’t available in Renew which is the stack that you are using.
Hope this explains it briefly.
To update this thread in the event someone else finds it… the Essential Grid extension that comes with X has a filter by category feature.
Your information is very helpful for other users looking for the category filter feature.
