Pro layouts are broken, even with plugins deactivated

Hi,

My site has a child theme of Pro, and the headers and footers are showing all bars, irrespective of the breakpoints, and my sidebar is sitting below the main content with just blank space where it should be. I also cannot create new pages or posts using the content builder - when I click on Edit with Pro it takes me back to the classic editor, and if I save a draft first (as I read has fixed the problem for other people) the Pro tab on the editor doesn’t work at all.

Please help!

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in!
We are really sorry that you are facing issue with pro. Please make sure you are using the latest version of the theme.
If not please update it as lots of bug has been address in last release.

Can you please send us your login and FTP details of your website in secure note so that we can have a closer look on to the issue and give you a proper solution.

Thankls

Yes, the theme is fully upgraded. I have provided the login and FTP details by secure note. Thanks

Hey @beyondthelamppost,

I see that your child theme’s style.css is empty.

It looks like you converted from X to Pro and have missed a step? Anyway, copied the correct code from Pro’s child theme to your child theme’s style.css. I then cleared the cache but the issue persists.

There are things to be done but they need to be done by you.

  1. Clear all caches and deactivate your caching plugin while this issue persists.
  2. Switch to Pro parent theme then test in incognito browser. If it works, continue to the next step.
  3. Download and install Pro’s child theme and move your customizations one by one while checking if the issue is back each time.
  4. If switching to Pro parent does not work, try reinstalling Pro.

Thanks.

I have followed your instructions, but the problem remains. I completely reinstalled Pro, and saved a backup of the child theme and replaced that as well, because I was on X, then X Pro, then Pro, so thought something might not have worked properly. At the moment the site is using the Pro parent theme, but I can still see the mobile and full size menus in the header, and two versions of the bottom navigation (for mobile and non-mobile) in the footer as well. The sidebar has disappeared, but that was part of the child theme as it was an exception to the general full-size layout, so that is fine. I’ve tried resaving the header, but both menus are still there. What else could be breaking this?
Thanks!

Hi There,

I was able to create a test page using Cornerstone builder (secure note), however I can confirm the issues that you have mentioned on your site.

Since this is a live site, we cannot do much testing. I have setup a error log monitor which you can see any recorded error by head over to Dashboard -> Home.

Is it possible to create a staging site with a copy of your live site, so that we can investigate this issue further. You can refer to the following guide on how to migrate a copy of your site (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/cornerstone-content-builder-migration/126).

Thanks!
