Pro | After updated 2.1.1 .Only Preview OK. Site broken

Please help.

While editing in CONTENT mode it is OK.

It looks as it was before update.

Then when goes view in BROWSER real mode, site design totally broken.

Checked in mobile but it happens the same. There is no design as used to be.

All text are very very big, no layout, no color and they seems to have no CSS.

Images are shown anyway.

Header that is built by header builder is fine somehow.

How to fix it?

OR something else?

Hey @jo3,

The common cause of that is caching.

  1. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  4. If you’re using a child theme, switch to the parent theme and check if the issue persists.

  5. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

Thanks but nothing solved.

  1. no caches plugin
    2…never CDN
  2. No active plugin
  3. Nothing changed.
  4. Removed templates. no CSS no JS

I created new page and put headline element and set FONT size smaller, but it comes out bigger than H1 size, say it like 120PX ???

I think your new function of permission things does not working so that there is no proper rendering.

I back it to one older version and it is OK.

So what else I can try to fix this ???

Hi there,

There’s a another recent update pushed to automatic updates,could you please try updating it again and see if that helps.

Also check your PHP version and make sure that you’re running PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid incompatibility issues.

THANKS for your information.

I checked X X-child,Pro 2.0 Pro2.11.Pro-child.

Only Pro2.11 breaks the layout completely unimaginable

I am sure it is not rendering by the theme.

I tried to set Permission setting “Back to Defaults” or other selections with no change.

I mean there are no difference in CONTENT mode functionally and visually broken as well in BROWSER.

Is there any chance to stop new permission function or which one expects work as it was used be?

Back o default or disable user preferences or other?

or how to reset it

As mentioned before,
Header and footer that are built from PRO function after Updated from X are fine visually.

It is only broken the other parts.

Please find how to fix it.

Hi,

There is a bug in in PRO2.1.1 with outdated php version

Please update to Pro 2.1.2 and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks but no luck.

My PHP is 7.1.

This the latest version Pro is not rendering at all.

This is not the cashing issue.

I think you should consider for user can make a switch to disable of new permission function.

As mentioned before, HEADER and FOOTER are fine.

There is a image, text, and layout but no CSS or its broken.

I back to older version anyway.

Thanks for updating the thread.

As you have rolled back to old version of Pro Theme it may be difficult for us to find out the problem that was causing. Can you please setup a staging server and make a copy of the website in that staging server and then try to update Pro Theme? If the problem comes up, please let us know the login details via a secure note so we can troubleshoot the problem.

Also in the mean time, please try and downgrade PHP to 5.6 and see if that helps.

Sorry, but older PHPs lead the same negative result.

I believe the issue are not from system things but by new functions.

Anyway,

As far as checking forum conversation many user facing something that is not expected after update.

But I wish to follow your updated theme and try to solve anyway.

I will set the complete new test site and did clean install from the WP.

There is no doubly the latest Pro template works fine there.

Please help me a little.

I will save all pages as a template first and recover to new clean test site one by one.

So do you have some way to save all pages as template all at one?

There are so many pages and it takes weeks I guess.

I will try and check what function or elements causes break the design or functions.

Hi @jo3,

I think it’s better if we could gather information first by testing your site. What if it’s content related, widget related, and so on. I see similar issues and the cause is random, but mostly related to the content it’s displaying.

As @Prasant requested, please clone your site into staging and we can test it there. We need to test it with the latest versions since the issue we’re discussing is from the latest update. And login credentials will be helpful :slight_smile:

And yes, you can save them as templates, then download them at once in the template manager.

Hey @jo3,

You only gave WP admin credentials in the thread you referred to. Please give us cPanel access also.

My colleagues also suggested that you copy your site over to a staging server so we could troubleshoot without the risk of losing something. Since haven’t done this, we assume that you allow us to do troubleshooting steps in your live site such as deactivating plugins, removing customizations, clearing htaccess, etc…
