Home page & blocks?

Hello,

I have chosen Ethos 1 but did not upload the demo set (I do not want my existing content, 400 articles, to get mixed up).

Can you tell me how to personalize my home page ? And add this type of blocks in it ?

If there is any tutorial available let me know where it can be found.
