Can you tell me why I’m getting the google analytics code showing above my slider?
It seems that the tracking code isn’t registering at all with google.

Thanks for asking. 
It looks like you are using 3rd party plugin Tracking Code Manager to setup Analytics. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to support problems causing because of a 3rd party plugin. I deactivated the plugin and obviously doing so removed the error message.
As an alternative you have the option to use Google Analytics plugin. You can install Google Analytics plugin from X > Validation > Extensions. Please take a look at following article to get started.
