Google Analytics plugin not working

Hi there,

I recently installed the Google analytics plugin onto my site and linked it to an analytics account using the global site tag, as per instructions on https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/extension-google-analytics/84.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get it to work, any ideas on why this might be?

Site is: http://vandenbergphotography.co.nz/

Thanks,
Ariane

Hello @ariane,

Thanks for asking.

I can see Google Analytics code on your website. Would you mind sharing the problem you are facing along with some screenshots?

Thanks.

Hi @Prasant,

Thanks for getting back to me, yes I have entered the code but none of the traffic is being recorded in my analytics account and no tags are detected by tag manager. See screen shots below,

Thanks,
Ariane

Hi Ariane,

It seems that you didn’t place all the code that was provided.

Please make sure that you have copied all the code you got from analytics.

Hey @Jade,

Yes its very strange, I pasted the full tracking tag in but it appears that once I save it (press update) some of the code is removed e.g. see screen shots

Hi there,

Would you please kindly make sure that you are using the latest version of the Google Analytics plugin?

And if the problem persists kindly get back to us with the URL/User/Pass of your website using the secure note functionality of the post.

Also, you need to make sure that you have set the part in the Google account correctly in Analytics admin.

Thank you.

Hi,

Yes the Google Analytics plugin is fully up to date. Sorry I have never sent a secure note and cant see the key symbol for sending a secure note as an option in the reply can you direct me?

Thanks,
Ariane

I experienced the same issue. I would paste the code and hit ‘save’ and you’d see a the same piece of code get removed. My client needed analytics the same day so I installed monsterinsights and it worked with the same code
