Footer Keeps Getting Deleted

So this has randomly happened to me twice today and I don’t know why / am extremely frustrated. I had my entire footer get deleted from my website for no reason at all, the footer still shows but all of the bars/containers/elements within are gone. After it happened the first time I decide whatever I’ll build it again, must’ve been a glitch. I finally finish the new one and sure enough that whole footer is gone now too. This cannot continue happening, any advice on how to recover my footer/fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ryan,

I have tested my local installation but I am not able to replicate the issue you have described. Please check the versions of your Pro theme and the bundled plugins are up to date. Also, please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Please also note that you can save the work you did for the header, content, and footer builder as a template so you can have a backup.

Hope this helps.

Hi @rcwilson29,

Are you using the latest version of Pro? A couple weeks ago we pushed a hotfix for Pro that resolved this. It was a conflict with the WordPress 5.1 update. This fix was also included in the recent 2.5 update. You may just need to update the theme to avoid this moving forward.

I checked my version and it says I’m using 2.4.6 but the latest version is 2.5.2, it doesn’t have any option for me update the theme though, how can I update it?

Hello Ryan,

You can force update your Pro theme by going to Dashboard > Updates.
Just make sure that you have validated Pro theme already or else the update will fail because it will ask you to validate it first.

To validate the theme properly, please do the following:
1] Please login to your account and assign the license (https://theme.co/apex/licenses). You need to assign the license to your site using this url: https://www.example.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
2] Go back to X > Validate again, and insert the license code.

And please review the changes that we made on how you are going to validated your X theme because we made a big change in the process. Please check it out here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-product-validation/55

Please let us know how it goes.

I just updated the theme to 5.2 so hopefully this will be the fix, thanks for your help!

You’re most welcome!
