Email Forms Plugin not working 2019

Hi There,

I’m trying to use the Pro theme email forms plugin for a subscribe list. When a user enters their info and clicks subscribe, the button is greyed out (disabled) and the email address is not added to MailChimp. There is also no confirmation message. Basically nothing happens. It is similar to the problem on this topic from last year. https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/email-forms-extension-no-confirmation-message-email-address-not-added-to-mailchimp-list/47431

Any thoughts on what is causing this?

Thank you

-Joshua

Hi Joshua,

The button is greyed out shows that the process goes correctly but it stops at some point and it must be a Javascript problem. You have many licenses and I could not find the page you are talking about. WOuld you please share with us the URL of the page that you have the form on?

Would you also please follow up with the standard debugging steps below and get back to us with the result of the steps:

  1. Ensure everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list here. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. Click here for more information.
  2. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Email Form plugin.
  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third-party plugins, and see if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Thank you.

Hi @christopher.amirian

Thanks for your response. I went through all the debugging steps as you said. Everything appears to be up to date and unfortunately, a plugin conflict test did not solve the issue. You are right about the Javascript error. I am seeing one in the console now. Here is the page where I am trying https://joshuaballard.com/blog/

Hello @SeekGod,

I am no longer seeing any JS error. You might be having a caching issue. Since you are using SiteGround, could you please clear your site cache or temporarily disable the supercacher in your hosting panel? The SuperCacher is developed by SiteGround exclusively for their customers. It increases the number of hits a site can handle and boosts the website loading speed. The SuperCacher includes 4 different caching options for maximum optimization of your websites. You can access the tool by clicking on the SuperCacher icon in your cPanel.

For more information about this, please check it out here: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/supercacher_intro.htm

Hope this helps.

Hi @RueNel

Were you able to successfully enter a name/email address and get a confirmation that you are now subscribed? I flushed the SuperCacher like you said, but it is still not working.

I can confirm that I am still getting a JQuery error on this page, after attempting to submit my name and email address to “Subscribe” on the right column near the top of the page.

Hi Joshua,

I tested the case and I do see the Javascript error. I am going to report this to our issue tracker. Just FYI, this is different than the original thread that you linked to.

Thank you for taking time and getting back to us with the report. Please kindly stay tuned and follow the Changelog for the update about the case:

Thank you.

Thanks @christopher.amirian

What should I do in the meantime instead? Can you recommend an alternative that works similarly?

Hi @SeekGod,

Yes, you can try the Mailchimp for WordPress (3rd party plugin).

Or the ConvertPlus extension (bundle with the theme) but more complex.

Integrate ConvertPlus with MailChimp

Or if you want to manage all your email campaigns locally on your WordPress installation, you can try the MailPoet (bundle with the theme).

Thanks,

Thank you for the suggestions. I will look into these in the meantime…

Let us know how it goes,

Cheers!

I have same issue, this plugin did not work in previous version of PRO theme too. To avoid any plugins conflict I try to handle all of my requirements only with theme.co provided plugins and avoid installing 3rd party plugins which is not provided by PRO bundle; I hope in next version all bugs of this helpful plugin have been fixed.

Thanks

Hi Omid,

Thanks for letting us know and noted, please stay tuned for the future updates.

Thanks!

Just FYI I’m having the same issue. So apparently a wide-spread problem

Hi @gmhansen,

It’s known issue and conflict between the theme and email forms javascript.

Thanks.
