Custom font Stopped Working

Hi Friends,
I uploaded a custom font to use in Pro, it worked for a while, but after a couple hours it stoped working.
Its a premium desktop font i have for trial and i installed it using transfonter, but i don’t i have a webfoot license yet.(im trying two fonts before purchasing the definitive one) Its called Prospectus
Can you please help me to know what could have happened?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi There @sebagc

Thanks for writing in! It seems that you have forgotten to include your site URL. When checking your Themeco account, I see that you have more than 10 licenses, so I could not see your actual issue.

Please review our font manager guide here (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/font-manager/101) and implement accordingly.

You can also review the following thread if you run into any issues (https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/having-some-problems-with-adding-custom-font-to-x-theme/57927).

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thank you very much @mldarshana
I just added the URL to the private note.

Best regards!!

Hello @sebagc,

Before you can use the custom font in the editor, you must add it first to the Font Manager.

Edit the page and apply it to the element:

And after making all your changes, you will need to clear all your caching plugin first. I noticed that you have WP Rocket too. Clear the cached first before testing your site again.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you very much RueNel!
I did add the custom font to the Font Manager as you instruct, but for some reason it disappeared.
I just wanted to know if you had any idea why that happened, thanks for instructing me to check the Cache, Ill see if WP Rocket might be the problem or something else.

thanks again!!

Hello @sebagc,

The font might have not been saved after all. Perhaps you might have thought you already saved it. Anyways, just re-saved it again and apply to the elements. Please do not forget to clear the caches so that your latest changes will be applied to the page.

Hope this helps.

Hi RueNel,
Im sorry to bother you again, but although i save the font over and over again, it keeps having problem. After some hours stops working a when i go back to the font manager, it looks like i never entered before.
Intried deactivating Wp Rocket and replaced it with Cloudways Breeze.

Please let me know if you can take a further look.
Thank tou very much again!!
Best

Hi @sebagc,

I checked and it seems to be working.

Font is saved in the font manager

I then created a test page and test the font. Can you provide us more details of the issue.

Thanks

Thanks Paul!
I checked your link and its working, but when seing the site with Https it seams that it stops working. Please see attached images. Can it be that https certificate produces a problem? I also saw something similar happening in another license Pro, www.terrakidsorganics.com

Thanks again for the time invested.
Best
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Please navigate to Settings> General and change http with https

Thanks

Hi Paul,
I did what you suggested but the problem persists.
Thanks again and sorry to keep bothering!

Best regards,

Hi Sebastian,

Yes that could be it because your site is having the Mixed Content issue.

If your site has already an SSL certificate your site should not be accessible via non-secure protocol HTTP anymore, it should redirect to HTTPS

The site is not loading the font-file because it is being requested from HTTP which is being blocked. I think this happened because at the time you uploaded/set the font-files the site URL is still in http

Now that you have your site URL set to HTTPS please re-set your custom font in the font manager.

Another thing is you can use this plugin to force your site to be accessed via HTTPS.

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Hi Friech,
I tried what you said but the site still has problems charging fonts and images that are pointed out as unsafe from http, although i uploaded them again.
Since im trying a total redesign of small portfolio website, im seriously thinking about creating a new application(Cloudways Vultr server) and star from scratch.
Would that be safe in terms of SEO? I hope so, this problem is driving crazy hehehe
Thanks again!

Best regards!
Sebastian

Hi @sebagc,

I want to suggest another method to make sure you will not have mixed content. You will need to search for all instances of the HTTP in your database and change it to https.

Important Point: Please get a complete backup of your website before taking the steps below.

  • Please install the Search and Replace WordPress plugin.
  • Read the documentation of that plugin on how to search and replace.
  • Replace http://sudventure.com with https://sudventure.comR.
  • Clear any kind of cache that you might have, including the plugin that you installed or cache object by your server.

That is the most robust way of making sure that the mixed content will not occur.

Kindly consider that this is related to your setup and the problem that you are experiencing is not related to our theme or the code that we have. So, the implementation of the method above is on your shoulders, and we will not be able to carry out the method for you.

To make sure I am clear enough, please never use the method above unless you are certain that you have a Complete Backup of your website.

Thank you.
